Rob Me of Romance
You say we are safe here
They lurk behind corners
Slither through the crowd
You say 'oh we are romantic'
A coveted sanctuary for you to enjoy
Slipping, sliding powder and pills
Under tables, across counters
Into drinks of joyful girls
You say the colorful themes illuminate the night life of St Andrews
Take my happiness
Take my safe, secure heart
Take my virginity
Take everything away from me
I would never give to you
Forced and silenced
Dragged out of the union
No one noticed
Close friends left
Find your own way home
Blood, sweat, tears
You took something from me
Forced and silenced
You poached my virginity
You say we are safe here
You don't notice
Slipping, sliding powder and pills
Under the table, over the counters
Into the drinks you make
Serve to innocent, bubbly girls
After just one night in the secure, romantic Student Union
Left to shift their whole perspective on life in St Andrews
Find comfort in other things that don't involve drinking
Or partying
We are cautious now
We are careful who we go out with
Where we go out
Yes, St Andrews is small
So you notice him
Through the crowd
Easy to pinpoint
Only because of one night
When he took something you would never give to him
