Behind the Christmas Gala with Spark Events

Ana: Sparks Events UK is all about bringing magic to gatherings. What inspired you to start this venture right after graduation?
Maria: Sparkeventsuk is all about bringing magic and unique experiences. I wanted to create experiences that feel exclusive, vibrant, and unforgettable, especially for students and young professionals. I saw a gap in the market for events that shared unique experiences, balancing exclusivity with fun—and Sparkevents was created!
Ana: The Christmas Gala is your debut event, and it's right around the corner. What can guests expect? Any surprises up your sleeve?
Maria: Guests can expect a night of elegance and excitement—from a delicious three-course meal to an unforgettable afterparty with live music. The club night will be elevated like never before in St Andrews, setting a new standard for nightlife experiences, with an incredible DJ lineup, top-tier lighting, and sound that will make it truly unforgettable.
Ana: What's been the biggest challenge in planning your first event, especially during this festive season?
Maria: With so many Christmas events happening, we needed to stand out and create something truly unforgettable. This is the one event you won’t want to miss! We’ve made sure every detail is carefully planned, from having premium logistics in place to working with professional companies who will handle the DJ set, lighting, and sound. Plus, the attention to detail at the dinner and throughout the event ensures a seamless, high-quality experience from start to finish. Each detail is crucial, especially when setting the standard for future events and ensuring that every experience exceeds expectations.
Ana: Any musical surprises we can look forward to?
Maria: Yes! We’re thrilled to have The Other Guys perform live a cappella, adding a unique and festive touch to the evening. After dinner, DJ Becka Clark—our headliner—will take over, joined by DJ M.E.K and DJ AASKEEW to keep the energy high all night. With an incredible DJ set, lighting, and sound system, we’re creating a true club night vibe that guarantees an unforgettable atmosphere.
Ana: We hear there’s a unique dress code for the gala—tell us about it. What’s the ultimate look you’d love to see on the dance floor?
Maria: Our dress code is all about 'Formal Elegance'—we encourage everyone to bring out their best, from sleek black-tie looks to modern, elegant styles. I’d love to see everyone embracing the glitz and glam, dressed to impress and ready ready to enjoy a night full of glamour, excitement, and unforgettable moments!
Ana: Sparks Events is still so new. How do you envision your brand evolving after this Christmas Gala?
Maria: This gala sets the stage for what’s to come. Spark Events aims to create an exclusive event series, each unique and tailored to different themes and audiences. While we're keeping most of it a surprise for now, you can expect a variety of unforgettable events, each with its own special vibe and designed to offer a truly memorable experience!
Ana: If you had to pick a song that captures the energy of the Christmas Gala, what would it be and why?
Maria: I’d choose Sound of Silence—it perfectly captures the mood for the club night. The mix of deep, atmospheric vibes sets the tone for an unforgettable night, building up to an epic energy on the dance floor.
Ana: As a recent graduate venturing into the events scene, what’s one piece of advice you’d give to other graduates dreaming of starting something of their own?
Maria: Start with a strong vision and don’t be afraid to take risks. The hardest part is often the first step, but each challenge teaches you something valuable. Believe in your ideas and build a network of supportive people around you.
Ana: Finally, for those who are attending—what’s one thing they absolutely cannot miss at the Christmas Gala?
Maria: The afterparty is an absolute must! With an incredible DJ lineup, top-tier lighting, and sound, it’s set to be the highlight of the night.
